Scaffolding VR
This project is an initiative led by Cafoc de Dijon, a component of the GIP FTLV of Bourgogne, as part of the Compétences et Métiers d'Avenir program overseen by the CCCA-BTP.This innovative program mainly targets CAP students in apprenticeship training centers (CFA) or vocational high schools.
Échafaudage VR is a training module for the R408 recommendation, dedicated to the inspection of fixed scaffolding: initial acceptance inspection, daily inspection, and quarterly inspection. Developed for virtual reality use by the Da Viking Code teams, it allows learners to practice spotting and identifying anomalies in a completely safe environment.

The program offers three concrete scenarios: three different scaffolding structures (frame-type and multidirectional), each linked to its own dedicated situation. At the end of each scenario, a detailed debriefing phase allows the learner to identify their mistakes independently or learn more about the anomalies encountered.
Once a sufficient score is reached, an evaluation mode unlocks. It allows the trainer to ensure that all scenarios have been seen and mastered: since the anomalies are randomly generated, the learner must precisely identify them from a list of more than 100 distractors.

Da Viking Code handled the development of this VR training, creating the graphics and the Unity development, while the educational content was produced by the CAFOC de Dijon teams. This project follows on from the woodworking machine simulator project, sharing a common goal: the deployment of the training on the E-Mersive BTP VR platform, available here. Set up by the CCCA-BTP, it allows construction industry learners to immerse themselves in professional training situations.
